list suffix adder

world's simplest list tool

This is a super simple browser-based application that suffixes the items in a list. As soon as you load a list in the input area, you'll get a suffix appended at the end of each item in the output list. You can specify the desired suffix in the options. The program works with arbitrary list types as you can customize the item delimiter (it can be either a character or a regular expression). Also, you can remove all empty list items and get rid of the surrounding spaces in non-empty items. Created by list geeks from team Browserling.

What is a list suffix adder?

This online utility adds a string after each list item. For example, if you had a list of 100 items and you wanted to end each item with a dot ".", you would have to type that character a hundred times (dot, arrow down, dot, arrow down, …). This program automates this manual task and adds any suffix automatically. You just have to specify the necessary suffix in the options. To avoid adding a suffix to empty items, you can skip the empty items by selecting the "Delete Empty Items" checkbox. Also, you can remove the surrounding whitespaces around the list items so that the suffix is consistently added after each item and there were no surprising formatting issues. You can append a suffix to any list, including vertical lists (newline-delimited) and horizontal lists (comma-delimited or semicolon-delimited). You just need to specify the current item delimiter symbol in the options. Moreover, you can load lists with multiple or variable delimiters and match them using a regular expression. Listabulous!

Suffix a List of Temperatures

This example adds the suffix " °F" to a list of average temperatures in various US states. The program first separates all items by a newline character and then appends the suffix at the end of each temperature value. Also, it clears the items of surrounding spaces and removes blank lines.

Add a Word to Each List Item

In this example, we upload a list of cat breeds and add the suffix " cat" after each item. As the list contains several different item delimiters, we separate the items by the regular expression "/[,.]\s+/". This regex matches commas or periods followed by whitespaces. We also normalize the joining character in the output list and set it to the comma character.
