List joiner

World's simplest list tool

This is a super simple browser-based application that joins all items of a list together. As various lists have various delimiters between the items, you can specify either a regexp or a single character as the delimiter. When joining the items, you can clear the unneeded whitespace around the items and skip the empty items. When the output list items are merged together, you can choose the new delimiter symbol. Created by list geeks from team Browserling.

List joiner tool What is a list joiner?
With this utility, you can merge the items of any list. The list items can be strings, textual data, or numeric data. The list itself can be represented in any format. To separate individual list items, you can use a regular expression or a separator character. Just select the separator mode you'll be using in the first block of options and enter the separating regex or character that matches your input list. When the items of the list are extracted, you can join them together by specifying the glue symbol. By default, the items are glued together through a single whitespace character. As appropriate, you can also use the quick options to trim all list items on the left and right sides and to remove empty list items. Listabulous!

Merge a Breakfast Menu
This example uses a vertical breakfast menu as input. Each breakfast item is on its own line. To merge all the breakfast foods together, we first extract the individual items from the list by splitting the input data by the newline character "\n". Then, we glue all extracted items together thru the comma symbol and return the merged string to the output.

Join a Binary Number
In this example, someone carelessly inserted various separators in a list of bits and made a huge mess. To clean up the input data and remove all unnecessary delimiters and restore the original binary number, we use the list-join operation on the bits. We select the split-by-the-regexp mode and enter the regular expression /[.,:;]/ in the delimiter option. This regexp uses the four characters – dot, comma, colon, and semicolon – to split the list into bits. The join-symbol option is left empty so that the bits are glue back to back and produced a binary number.

Cat Facts
In this example, we simultaneously join list elements together and also clear extra whitespaces that appear before and after them. We set the item separator to be equal to the tilde character and the merge character to the underscore. We also activate the left-trim and right-trim options, as well as the option to remove empty items.
