This is a super simple browser-based application that left-pads a list. You can load any list in the input and adapt to its format by setting the item separator character that it uses. Once items in the list are recognized, it will left-pad the list to the required length with the given new items. You can set the list padding length in the options, as well as specify the items that are used for padding in the options. Created by list geeks from team Browserling.
This online tool pads a list by adding new items on the left side (beginning) of the list. First, it counts how many items there are in your existing list. Then it calculates how many new items does it have to add to the beginning of the list to achieve the specified new length of the list. You can pad the list with just one new item or multiple items that are cyclically repeated. If you want to, you can also pad the list with just a single character or symbol. If your list is shorter than the required new length, then the list will be returned as it was and won't be padded or modified. To add several different items to the list, enter them separated by newlines in the options. The program works with all types of lists, be it vertical todo lists, lists that use commas as item delimiters, or lists that use pipes as delimiters. The program can adapt to your list via two different item delimiter matcher modes. When your list uses a simple delimiter, use the symbol delimiter matching mode, but if your list uses a changing delimiter, use the regular expression delimiter matching mode. The new padded list in the output can also use a completely new item delimiter. Additionally, if your list contains empty items, you can prune them from the output. Listabulous!
In this example, we left-pad a list of hats. We load a vertical list in the input and separate the items via the newline character. The input list has 13 hats in it but we want to change the length to be 18 hats. We enter two new hats "Beret" and "Cowboy Hat", create 2.5 new copies out of them, and append them to the beginning of the hat list.
In this example, we're creating a list of games to buy for the party. We need 25 games in total but the current list only has 20 games. We're the hugest Twister fans so we left-padded the list with 5 Twister games. To do it, we split the original items by a regex "/[,.]\s*/", then we specify "Twister" in the options, and the program left-pads the list from the beginning with Twister repeated five times.
In this example, we left-pad our activities to-do list for the holidays. We split the items by the newline character and expand the list to 19 items by complementing it with three fun new ideas: riding a bike, baking cookies, and going to the pool. Additionally, we remove the empty items from the input list so that the output was clean and instantly usable.
